How MICA PGDM Integrates Business Analytics and AI into a Management Curriculum

MICA’s PGDM introduces data science and AI courses from the very first term, well before students choose a specialisation, so they build working familiarity with data analytics fundamentals and technology tools early on. By the time they begin their summer internships, students are already comfortable working with data rather than encountering it for the first time on the job.
This foundation builds into subsequent terms, where students learn how marketing and business decisions are shifting from instinct-led to data-led through structured problem solving and hypothesis-driven thinking, AI/Agent Foundations & Skills Engineering, and hands-on work with business analytics and consulting, handling CRM and customer data platforms, Data science and analytics with AI. This data fluency culminates in the mandatory Business Analytics and Consulting coursework students complete in their second year — ensuring every PGDM graduate leaves with applied AI and data skills regardless of which minor specialisation they choose.
This prepares graduates for roles including Brand Management, Campaign and Performance Management, Mark.tech and AI, Sales and CRM, Business Analytics and Consulting and Data Science and AI. .

Life at MICA - Residential Campus, Cohort, and Learning Culture

MICA PGDM programme runs out of a 19-acre fully residential campus in Shela, Ahmedabad, where students live, eat, and work alongside each other. Technology equipped classrooms, seminar halls, library, community radio station, recording studio aid in bringing the best of learning tools for the students. The amphitheatre, auditorium, idea park, and open plazas offer the ease of group learning and space for personal reflections. The football ground, gymnasium, yoga space, and walkways help the students to stay fit and healthy. Bonds are forged in the Chotta canteen, hostel corridors, mess and MiCafe. The composition of these amenities changes the texture of learning.
  • Late-night project debates spill out of classrooms onto open plazas.
  • Amphitheatre and auditorium host everything from guest lectures to student-led events.
  • 24×7 library means a 2 AM idea has somewhere to land.
It’s a learning environment that’s deliberately different from urban commuter campuses – where contact hours end when the building closes.

The 60-seat PGDM cohort is intentionally diverse, drawing students from engineering, commerce, arts and design, and management backgrounds, and a near-even gender mix. Over 64% arrive with prior work experience, so peer learning is as substantive as classroom learning. What makes the PGDM peer group particularly distinctive is the combination of orientations in the same room – data-analytical, marketing-oriented, and creative – which shapes how problems get debated and solved.

Campus life is anchored by signature events that are MICA-specific: Micanvas, the institute’s annual cultural and creative festival, and Mic-Drop, alongside the ongoing rhythm of immersions, club activities, and cohort traditions that turn a two-year programme into the experience of becoming a MICAn.
