MICA Governing Council – A Brief History
The Mudra Foundation for Communications Research and Education was set up on February 5, 1991 which started an autonomous post-graduate academic institution called MICA.
The MICA Governing Council was formed on February 5, 1991.
The first Governing Council Meeting was held on February 14, 1991.
By the beginning of the current academic year 2015-16, a total of 56 Governing Council Meetings had been held.
The MICA Governing Council meets a minimum of 4 times in an academic year. The meetings are generally held in the months of July, October, January and March during the course of an academic year.
Some of the illustrious people who have graced the MICA Governing Council since its inception include Mr.S R Ayer, Mr.Subrata Bhowmick, Mr.Gerson da Cunha, Prof. Bhaskar Rao, Prof.Sharad Sarin, Prof.Subroto Sengupta, Prof.Pulin Garg, Prof.Pradip Khandwalla, Mr.A G Krishnamurthy, Dr. Besant Raj, Mr.Karthikeya Sarabhai, Prof. Vikas Satwalekar, Mr. Vikram Kaushik, Mr.Kiran Karnik, Mr.Alan D’Souza, Mr. N Vittal, Mr. J L Bajaj and Dr. Ang Peng Hwa.
