    MICA has broadened its programme offering. Admissions to all the programmes require candidates to appear for the MICAT exam conducted by MICA, along with other requirements unique for different programmes.

    Eligibility Criteria

    In accordance with UGC Regulations, admission to the Fellowship Programme in Management (FPM) is open to candidates with a 2-year Master’s degree after a 3-year Bachelor’s degree, a 1-year Master’s degree after a 4-year Bachelor’s degree with Honours/Research, or a 4-year Bachelor’s degree with Honours and Research with a minimum CGPA of 7.5/75%. Foreign nationals and NRIs with equivalent non-Indian qualifications and GRE are also eligible, subject to applicable recognition requirements. Candidates with relevant academic, professional, or research experience in Marketing, Media, Public Relations, Advertising, Journalism, Communications, or related fields will be given due consideration.

    Selection Process

    The FPM selection process comprises four stages: a valid score in CAT, XAT, GMAT, GRE, UGC-NET/JRF, or GATE (10% weightage); online application and MICAT performance; an online screening interview; and an on-campus FPM Written Test (FWT), Individual Presentation (IP), and Personal Interview (PI). Final selection is based on overall performance across these stages, along with relevant professional or research experience in Marketing, Media, and Communication.

    What is MICAT?

    MICAT (MICA Admission Test) is a Computer-Based Test (CBT) conducted by MICA.

    All candidates applying to MICA are required to appear for MICAT. The test assesses a candidate’s aptitude, creativity, and personality traits.

    MICAT has three sections:
      • Section A: Psychometric Test
      • Section B: Descriptive Test
      • Section C: Aptitude Test, which includes:
        • Divergent & Convergent Thinking
        • Verbal Ability
        • Quantitative Ability & Data Interpretation
    No. MICAT is conducted at designated test centres. Candidates must appear for the test at the centre allotted to them.
    No. The test centre is pre-assigned and mentioned on the candidate’s Admit Card. Candidates cannot choose their test centre or the computer assigned to them at the venue.
    MICAT is conducted twice a year – MICAT-I in December and MICAT-II in February.

    Yes. Candidates can appear for both MICAT-I and MICAT-II. Candidates need to register and pay the application fee separately for each test, as per the respective timelines.
    If a candidate appears for both tests, the better MICAT performance may be considered as per the admission process.
    The test format is largely similar, but MICAT is conducted on a computer.
    • Questions are displayed on the computer screen.
    • Objective-type questions are answered by selecting the appropriate option.
    • The Descriptive Test is typed on the computer as per the instructions provided.

    Yes. MICA follows section-wise qualifying criteria for MICAT. Your performance across the different sections of MICAT, along with your overall profile and performance in the interview round, is considered as part of the selection process.
    For programmes requiring CAT/XAT/GMAT, candidates must also meet the applicable qualifying criteria for the respective examinations. The qualifying cut-offs may vary for each admission cycle based on the overall performance of candidates.
