Prabin Mishra is a painter and a film-maker. A graduate from Government College of Art, Calcutta University and post-graduate from National Institute of Design (NID), Ahmedabad, Pravin is an Associate Professor and Chairperson of the Crafting Creative Communication (CCC) programme at MICA.
CCC is a one-year programme designed for those who want to pursue a career as ideators (copywriters/ content creators/ art directors/ film-makers).
Mishra has won several awards for his films. His animation film 'Dharamveer' won the National Critics Award in the Mumbai International Film Festival (MIFF 2004). His film 'Azadnagar Gulamnagar' was awarded the Best Documentary Film at the Ahmedabad International Film Festival in 2009. His film 'The Mystery Painter' won the Best Film Award at the Ahmedabad Film Project 2011 (AFP, now known as IFP).
He has conducted graffiti workshops in several cities of India. He has also trained government officers in creative communication in the states of Bihar, Odisha and Gujarat. In 2004, he designed Casa da India (House of India) pavilion in World Social Forum (WSF) in Porto Alegre in Brazil.
Mishra exhibits his paintings through solo shows. Apart from this, he has also served as a weekly columnist with Ahmedabad Mirror between June 2010 and October 2017, writes on contemporary issues in The Quint as well as in Times of India. He also serves as a 'Communication Consultant' to Ahmedabad Traffic Police. He has delivered several development projects for UNICEF, Care India, and Government of Gujarat.
Mishra has over 15 years of experience in the creative communication industry. He has been a faculty member at MICA since 1st January 2012.
Mishra is presently pursuing his PhD (in Design) from National Institute of Design, Ahmedabad.

AnyBodyCanDraw (ABCD): A round-the-year visual skill development sessions that contains storytelling through visual communication. A class where participants learn the ABCDs of drawing - form, shape, perspective, light and shadow, composition, portrait, caricatures, watercolors, pen & ink, story-boarding and animation.
