On market research and networking
Rajan Vardarajan, a distinguished scholar and Ford Chair in marketing and e-commerce, Mays Business School at Texas A&M University, will be at MICA to mentor budding scholars at the first Young Scholar’s Research colloquium scheduled on January 9.
He is a revered scholar in the field of marketing science and a recipient of a number of honours and awards including the Academy of Marketing Science Distinguished Marketing Educator Award, American Marketing Association Award.
This is a first of its kind initiative aimed at providing young scholars with a discussion and networking forum to share their research. The event has caught the fancy of researchers abroad too and entries have come in from Miami University, Tampere University Finland and Chicago School of Professional Psychology, US.
To invigorate the budding researchers, Preeti Shroff, Dean of MICA, has instituted MICA Dean’s Awards to recognise quality research. The awards will include a certificate and cash prize. Shroff, an alumna of SUNY Buffalo, with extensive experience as a faculty and administrator in USA university system, believes that international collaboration and partnerships is the new mantra for excellence. She envisions MICA’s apt and distinctive positioning as a niche institute of strategic marketing and communication to be a key catalyst in this aspect.
