Aims to lift executive education to the next level
Ahmedabad: To lift executive education to the next level, MICA has launched two new programmes other than its regular Management Development Programme (MDP). The new programmes - Social Development Programme (SDP) and Government Development Programme (GDP) - will focus on imparting training to officials from social and government sector.
Under the SDP, One training session in each programme has already been finalised in agreement with the Information and Broadcasting Bureau (I&B) under the GDP and Self-Employed Women's Association (SEWA).
Talking about the same, MICA dean Preeti Shroff said, "We wanted to lift executive education to the next level. We were offering MDP's, but now we will have SDPs and GDPs. The training sessions will commence from the end of this month. While for I&B Bureau, the training will be on 'Media Industry & Content Management: Communication Strategy for I&B, the module for SEWA will be to train their trainers."
SEWA has been facing huge challenges in establishing dual identity of their community leaders. While their community leaders also act as change makers, they have another role to play, i.e, being entrepreneurs for various products. This is where MICA will play its role in explaining how the role of community leaders as change makers and entrepreneurs is blended. We will also train them to use communication through various social media platforms, Shroff added.
In the past, MICA has worked with top of the league multinationals, Indian corporate houses, public sector enterprises and the government by creating cutting edge training modules that are in sync with the increasingly volatile, uncertain, complex and ambiguous business environment.
"I&B officials often face huge challenges in terms of collecting data from the field and processing it. Hence, they will be trained in strategic communication for team building and crisis management." - Preeti Shroff, Dean, MICA
