Ahmedabad: Students of various B-schools tested their management as well as creative skills on the second day of MICA's three-day annual marketing festival MICANVAS on Saturday.
The keynote address was delivered by Kunal Jeswani, CEO, Ogilvy India. He spoke on personalisation and storytelling in the context of marketing communication. He emphasized the importance of forming the ‘personal connect' and said, “The challenge of marketing is that people are telling stories in a world where everyone is a story-teller. More stories will be created and made available to mankind today than on any other day in human history. Stories feel like stories only when there is a sense of authenticity to them.” A panel discussion on ‘Datification of humans or humanisation of data? Decoding the ‘me' in mecosystem' was also held on the occasion.
The panelists, Ankit Mehrotra, co-founder of Dine Out, Siddharth Adelkar, consultant, ThoughtWorks, and psychiatrist Bhooshan Shukla enlightened the students about the relevance of personalised and experiential marketing. “If you want to be an entrepreneur, you will have to look into the blind spots of the established giants,” said Mehrotra.
