Entrepreneur and chief guest Ronnie Screwvala shares tips to benefit graduating students in career, Kamath announces fee hike
The MICA campus pulsated with energy on Saturday as students, faculty members and guests gathered for the 22nd convocation ceremony of the institute with 160 students of the 22nd batch of Post Graduate Diploma in Management-Communications (PGDM-C) being awarded their degrees. Others awarded their degrees included three students from the Fellow Programme in Management-Communications (FPM-C) and 23 students of the 26th batch of Post Graduate Certificate Programme in Crafting Creative Communication (PGCP-CCC).
Boosting the morale of students, entrepreneur and philanthropist Ronnie Screwvala who was chief guest spoke to youngsters about the 12 `C' that may add value to their careers -confidence, clarity, communication, conviction, collaborative, change, customer, choices, curiosity to mention a few. “Watch out there is no room for comfort zone. Also your attitude towards Compromise will decide your career path. The less you compromise, the bigger leader you will be,“ he said.
Screwvala shared the dais with outgoing President Madhukar Kamat, Acting Director Tridip Suhrud, Dean Preeti Shroff apart from the newly appointed President and Director Shailendra Raj Mehta who joined MICA's Governing Council on Saturday but will take charge in June.
Kamath, when interacting with the media, said that the institute will complete placements in the next couple of years. While announcing a curriculum revamp in the next academic year, the outgoing president added, “MICA has announced the decision to increase the fee from next year by 6 per cent. The decision was take a long time back.“
