MADHUKAR KAMATH, group CEO and MD of DDB Mudra, has taken over as the president of premier strategic marketing and communication B school after its current president and director Nagesh Rao resigned this week to take on an international assignment after a four-year long stint at MICA.
Kamath, who has been the chairperson of MICA's council for more than a decade, is expected to work closely with Preeti Shroff, MICA'S new academic dean, who joined the B-school recently. Rao had taken over as director of MICA after a teaching stint at the lndian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad, in February 2012 for a three-year term, which was further extended for an 2 years.
MICA's governing council had in 2014 unveiled a refreshed strategic positioning and an ambitious vision for the institute. As a part of the plan to achieve vision, MICA announced the new leadership structure on Tuesday. Established in 1991, MICA is first residential institute in the country and perhaps in the the Asia-Pacific region, dedicated to creating leadership in strategic marketing and communication.
