AHMEDABAD: A three day international conference on “Media & Entertainment Disruptions and Beyond” is being organised at MICA, Ahmedabad beginning from Thursday. Annenberg School for Communication & Journalism, USA is the academic partner.
This is the fifth edition of the International Communication Management Conference (ICMC). The objective of the conference is to understand effective marketing strategies for managers in the Media & Entertainment industry. This would entail examining strategies for managing content, consumers, and connections. The conference will deliberate on the challenges that continue to exist in terms of infrastructure, digital access, content availability, user behaviour, and technology led disruptions. It will also look in to the future role of media and entertainment industry in building the global economy. The conference platform will enable academia and industry to converge and discuss research based solutions for intractable issues and challenges.
Some of the industry leaders who are expected to remain present at the conference include leaders like Bhaskar Das (President, DB Group), MK Anand (MD, Times Network), Romil Ramgarhia (Chief Business Officer, BARC), Tarun Katial (CEO, Reliance Broadcast), Udit Sheth (Founder, Transstadia), Vinay Singhal (Co-Founder, WittyFeed), Kandaswamy Bharathan (Director, Kavithalayaa Productions), Laxmi Pratury (Co-Founder, INK) and Sameer Pitalwala (CEO, Culture Machine).
The conference will also be graced by international speakers like David Craig and Jonathan David Aronson (from USC Annenberg School of Communication and Journalism), Patricia Lee Dorff (from Council on Foreign Relations), Sumir Lal (World Bank), Prabu David, Kami Silk and Jason Archer (Michigan State University).
