COURSE: Film Study, Cyber Culture, Rural Marketing, Visual Culture, etc

With diverse set of electives on offer, students at MICA watch movies as part of their curriculum for the much-loved elective, Film Study. After all, there is more to movies than shaking a leg and melodrama, feel students who've opted for the course.PGP-2 student Nandan Majumdar who has opted for the elective says, “I have made corporate films earlier so choosing this course was a way of staying in touch with film making. This is a way of going back to what I love. I am looking forward to watching regional cinema, learn the politics associated with film making, etc., while understanding the socio political impact of movies on the audience.“

Other interesting electives that MICA students can opt for include Cyber Narratives, Rural Marketing, Visual Culture and Urban and Landscape among other things. Student Manisha Poddar who has cyber culture s an elective explains, "The future is digital.

It has the power to shape our choices, the manner in which we lead our life, effecting our perceptions and even our personal styles. I've chosen this elective to understand the way in which the cyber world has a 360° impact on human lives. This will help me be a better manager".
