From Term 1 to 5, the students will be assigned to an FPM faculty as research/teaching assistants for fifteen hours per week. Apart from this, after the successful defence of their thesis proposal and until the end of the third year, students will be required to take up research and teaching work on campus. Such work, besides opening up research avenues, should contribute to the student's learning and experience.
FPM students will be encouraged to present papers, which have been submitted to and accepted at professional conferences. FPM students will also be required to publish research papers in refereed journals.
The institute will provide a laptop to each student at the time of registration after admission. The laptop has to be returned to the institute when the student finally leaves the institute.
All students (except sponsored students) admitted to the Programme will be given a fellowship and contingency allowance. Fellowship includes fee waiver and a monthly stipend. The present stipend is Rs 25, 000, Rs 27, 000, Rs. 30,000 and Rs 30, 000 per month for first, second, third and fourth year respectively. In addition to the stipend, a contingency grant of Rs. 25,000 in the first year and Rs. 30,000 in each of the second and third years will be available to the students for academic expenses like case material, books, travel, data collection expenses, thesis expenses etc. Students will be permitted to carry over surpluses to the following years.
Lodging and Boarding
FPM students will bear their lodging and boarding expenses. Limited twin-sharing accommodation for single students may be available on campus on subsidised rates.
The various fees charged by the Institute from FPM students are:

Rs. 15,000 will be refunded after successful completion of first year and 5,000 after successful completion of the Programme.
