A professor of MICA took part in a dialogue and discussion programme organised to mark the launch of Digital Identity Research Initiative (DIRI), a multi-disciplinary research initiative on Aadhaar card and its implications, in Delhi by the Indian School of Business, Hyderabad (IBS) and Government of India on July 5.
ISB plans to build an ecosystem of researchers and resources on Aadhaar and focus on independent, multi-disciplinary, high quality research output on digital identity and its applications. Dr Varsha Jain, associate professor and research chair at MICA, is a part of the project.
Its outcome will translate into knowledge with immediate application for policy makers, educators, service providers, and entrepreneurs. Several government officials, ministers, industry experts, academicians and others from across the country participated in the event held at the India Habitat Centre. Professor Jain said, "It is a great feeling to contribute for a cause that affects every one. I was overwhelmed the way this event brought together stakeholders at one platform. Researchers from accounting, finance, technology and marketing took part. A proposal would be sent to us to further work upon topics by July-end. I am honoured to be a part of the project."
