Mudra Foundation

The Mudra Foundation for Communications Research and Education (MFFCRE) was set up in Ahmedabad in 1991 to provide training in communications including advertising and related areas to persons in such a way as to equip them thoroughly to practice the art and profession of communication.

It's vision is to improve the quality of life of the society at large through a better understanding and development of communications processes in all facets of life, by engaging in appropriate research, education, and advocacy.

The Foundation became a 'Registered Society' in February 1991, under the Societies' Registration Act ,1860 and as a 'Registered Trust' in February 1991, under the Bombay Public Trust Act, 1950.

Mudra Institute of Communications, Ahmedabad (MICA)

Based on this vision, The Mudra Institute of Communications, Ahmedabad (MICA) was started in 1991. The main mission of MICA is to develop innovative professionals in the practice, development and management of communications to serve the needs of the industry and society through education, research and advocacy. It is an autonomous, non-profit management education institution whose programme is approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and recognised by the Department of Science and Technology (DST), Government of India. MICA has set a precedent as the first residential academic institution in the country and perhaps in the Asia-Pacific region wholly dedicated to meeting the needs of the integrated marketing communications industry.  MICA complements the role that management education plays in modernising and professionalising communications-driven businesses.

Mudra Institute of Communications Research (MICORE)

The foundation also intended to establish a dedicated scientific research centre with greater magnitude in a wide spectrum of communications, marketing and other related areas. It was with the same view that the Mudra Foundation set up the Mudra Institute of Communications Research (MICORE) in 2006 with a view to provide research and dissemination of all aspects of communication. MICORE is the foundation's second venture and it aims to be a paradigm setter in communications research and bring global standards in this field to India. It is committed to providing communications-centric solutions to the developmental and organisational challenges facing the country, its driving impetus being to build a strong and just consumer and civil society. MICORE is dedicated to the formulation, development, consolidation and promotion of Communications Research, to empower communities, add value to industry, Government and social institutions, build greater understanding of the changing nature of communication, develop new resources & skills, and support decision making and public policy.
