SCAM provides an integrated 360 degree solution to the typical weary eyed, drowsy and assignment burdened MBA student. Yes, we are specialists at providing not-so-innovative, but nonetheless effective solutions catering to sports and recreation. From organising ping pong tournaments to MCL (a poor wo/man's version of the IPL!), we do it all! Have a dissertation defence tomorrow? Need to vent your frustration? Getting bored? Come to us and we will provide you all the paraphernalia you need. Whether it be pool sticks, cricket bats, badminton racquets, or soccer balls; you name it and we've got it. Many fans of SCAM, say (not explicitly) that if not for the Sports Committee, life on campus would be as dull as dishwater.
How exactly are the brave souls who place duty before self and serve the society in the interest of humanity selected? Well, let's just say the scammies (yes, that is what we call ourselves) usually have an eye for talent. Voting by the batch is followed by personal interviews of all the candidates in which they are given some tasks as deemed necessary. Usually, a team of 4-6 members is selected which together comprises the necessary skill sets.
Over the last academic year, SCAM successfully organised Mica Cricket League (MCL), Short Wicket Gully Cricket, Coxic Smash- the Badminton Tournament, Ping Pong- TT tournament, a Chess tournament, inter B-School Football matches and inter hostel cricket matches. SCAM also led a sports contingent to participate in a national level B-School sports fest at IMT- Ghaziabad where the TT and Throw Ball teams bagged the runners-up position and made the college proud!
The perks of being in the committee, seriously? Apart from being woken up at 4 am for a shuttle cock? The satisfaction of doing what you love the most!
Looking ahead, SCAM would like to continue working towards its mission - to add some spice into the otherwise monotonous lives of students. Scaling up most of the events and exposure to inter B-School events is also on the agenda.
