Junior Committee selection procedure:-
The selection procedure involves students applying for different verticals of the MICA Alumni Committee i.e. Networking, Marketing, Creatives,Events,Admin. This is followed by an interview and a task assigned by the senior committee members.
Senior Committee selection procedure:-
The outgoing senior committee invites expressions of interest from students for the various verticals, and they are then interviewed and given a task on the basis of which the senior committee is selected.
For any elite institute, one of the major strengths is a strong alumni base . MICA Alumni Committee dedicatedly functions to strengthen the bond between the institute and alumni for a mutually beneficial relationship . This is leveraged not only by the existing students but also by the alumni who might want to contribute and give back to their alma mater.
The committee comes out with its flagship magazine MICULT, compiled by the committee members, which helps the alumni know what's new,what's the same, what's changing etc within the institute. Through MICULT alumni keep in touch with the latest happenings in MICA. The committee organises three city-based meets (Bangalore, Mumbai , Delhi) and a grand reunion in the month of February in Ahmedabad. These meets see massive participation from leading managers of various sectors. All the verticals come together to encourage maximum participation and bonding of alumni with the institute. Also, the committee organises alumni interaction session for the current batch of students from time to time , so that students gain a first hand experience of the coporate world.
Apart from the unique experience of networking and interacting with top notch officials, leading decision makers of the media, FMCG, advertising sectors etc, the alumni committee teaches one how to foster and nurture a strong bond between the institute and its ex-students. Organising city-based meets and a mammoth size grand reunion on campus opens up a plethora of opportunities for the committee members to work seamlessly across all verticals and help all other committees leverage a strong alumni foundation.
